This is a brief synopsis of how our farm life was created. We were restaurauteurs and innkeepers in the beautiful historic village of Wilno. Our Red Canoe Cafe was dedicated to serving good local fresh organic food and with our fun and food loving neighbours, Pete and Ritsuko, we decided to raise a few pigs. We saved our delicious cafe leftovers and Ritsuko fed them the tasty weeds from her garden. The piglets grew big and strong. Next we added two small lambs and and then a few chickens and a duck and goose or two. Less than three years later, we are no longer in the restaurant business, but full time farmers raising sheep, pigs, chickens and laying hens. Here are a few photos of the early days.
